APPROACH

I have been creating images for more than forty years. With time and experience, my approach has evolved and become more refined. I work patiently, observing and waiting for the right moment, without interfering. Some images are born from quiet, simple encounters, which I share with respect for both the subject and its environment.

I am as interested in large species as I am in more discreet forms of life. Whether forty meters deep, in the mountains, underwater or on land, the same elements guide my work: light, lines, and atmosphere. Photography now occupies most of my free time.

Split-level photography is an integral part of my work, allowing a simultaneous view of what happens above and beneath the surface, and offering a different perspective on landscapes and the marine environment.

Presence and Sense of Scale

Alongside my underwater work, I am also drawn to remarkable trees. Their presence, age, and silence set a different rhythm. Photographing them demands the same attention, patience, and respect as underwater photography. They may appear still, yet they are deeply alive.

My partner is closely involved in my photographic work and appears in many images, primarily underwater. My children, now aged 15 and 19, also dive (levels 1 and 2). As they became more confident and autonomous, they naturally took part in the process, always with simplicity.

When I include a human presence in an image, it is deliberately discreet, serving mainly to provide a sense of scale and to orient the viewer’s gaze.
